Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd

Dr Hooman Soleymani Majd

Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd stands as a distinguished gynaecological consultant and expert in oncology surgery. He is renowned for his surgical skills and proficiency in minimally invasive techniques (keyhole surgery). Mr. Soleymani Majd is hugely experienced and excels in performing intricate open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He focuses particularly on the treatment of pelvic masses, treating cancer and performing surgery for complex gynaecological conditions, including the treatment of benign gynaecological conditions.

Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd commenced his career in obstetrics and gynaecology in London, before transitioning to Oxford and undertaking a rigorous postgraduate training program culminating in a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in obstetrics and gynaecology. He pursued additional three-year specialist training in gynaecology oncology at the Churchill Cancer Centre in Oxford.

Accredited by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) as both a colposcopist and trainer, he holds memberships in a number of esteemed organisations such as the British Gynaecological Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).

Mr Soleymani Majd is a GMC-recognised trainer, and is involved in teaching junior doctors and medical students from Oxford University. He has published a number of clinical research papers and continues to publish prolifically. He has performed a number of live surgeries at international level and has been an invited speaker at numerous prestigious, international congresses. He is well known and respected in the gynaecology community. He strives for clinical excellence and is a strong advocate of women's health.

Miss Lamiese Ismail

Dr Lamiese Ismail

Miss Ismail was born and raised in South Africa, and earned her primary medical qualification from the renowned University of Cape Town in 2000. She garnered valuable experience in obstetrics and gynaecology at hospital units across South Africa before moving to the UK.

She underwent further specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the London and Oxford deaneries, completing a comprehensive postgraduate program spanning seven years. It was during this period that Miss Ismail attained membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), followed by a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in December 2014. She has been working at the John Radcliffe Hospital since then.

Today, Miss Ismail works as a general obstetrician and gynaecology consultant who has completed further advanced training skills modules in benign gynaecology, operative hysteroscopy and vulval diseases. Her patient portfolio is primarily centred around addressing menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts, vulval issues and the medical management of endometriosis. She has a wealth of experience in performing intermediate minimal access surgeries and outpatient hysteroscopies.

A prolific contributor to scientific literature, Miss Ismail has had numerous papers published in peer-reviewed journals. Miss Ismail is a GMC-recognised trainer and has a keen interest in shaping the future generation of doctors. She has played a leading role in the training of junior doctors at the John Radcliffe hospital.

She empathises with the unique anxieties women often face during hospital visits, and as a result is fully committed to enhancing patient experiences in the outpatient setting. Miss Ismail believes in treating every woman as a unique individual and employs a holistic approach to patient care.

Mrs Zoe Risk

Secretary

Zoe has a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with patients. She has worked in the NHS since 2002, predominantly within the gynaecology team. She was the gynaecological oncology MDT coordinator for several years and now works with the cancer data team on a part time basis, which she juggles around raising her two young children.

She has been the administrator and secretary of our team at Gynaecology Care Oxford since this practice began in 2018. Zoe is the backbone of our team and thoroughly enjoys working for Gynaecology Care Oxford due to the interaction she has with our patients. She has a well-deserved reputation for being extremely caring, highly supportive and helping our patients along their pathway with much empathy and compassion. She works closely with our consultants to ensure that each patient is kept informed about their care in a timely and professional manner. She ensures that  her efficiency, organization and unique personalised touch are brought to bear for the benefit of each and every patient, which further embodies the team ethos of Gynaecology Care Oxford.
